The current regional and international developments have spurred Russia and Iran to further promote their strategic relations and rapprochement over foreign policy. For months, the two countries have been undertaking steps to foster bilateral relations, as has been evidenced by the high-level visits exchanged between the two countries this year, including Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Tehran in July 2022 to participate in the Astana peace talks on the Syrian crisis.
