The cost of Terrorism and Extremism in Egypt (1990-2020)

This study was inspired by a directive from his Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to the government to conduct an integrated national study that tracks the financial and social toll that extremism and terrorism had on Egyptian society over the past three decades. His Excellency recommended that the research’s findings be made public and available to the media in order to inform Egyptians of the severe costs of extremism and terrorism on all the economic, political, social, and cultural levels, as well as to develop citizens’ awareness of the perceptions and methods of intellectual and physical confrontation of extremism and terrorism in all manifestations.
