On February 12, 2020, the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies, in partnership with the Finnish Embassy in Cairo, held a joint symposium on “Developments of the Libyan Crisis in the Post-Berlin Conference.
” Ambassador Laura Kansikas of Finland to Cairo and a delegation of Finnish diplomats and experts participated in the discussion.
From the Egyptian side, Dr. Khaled Okasha, Director of the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies, General Mohammed Ibrahim, Deputy Director of the Center, and a number of experts from the Center’s Security and Defense Program, Dr. Khaled Hanafi, Mr. Ahmed Eleiba, and a number of young researchers took part in the discussion.
Participants discussed a number of issues of common concern, including terrorism and armed groups, the Arab-Israeli conflict, regional security in the Middle East and the Libyan crisis.
