US President Joe Biden’s Middle East tour from 13-16 July resuscitated the possibility of forming a Middle East military alliance to confront Iran, a proposal previously put forward by Republican President Donald Trump in 2017 as part of an extensive plan to resolve the Palestinian issue that came to be known as the “Deal of the Century” or the “Trump Peace Plan”, which failed to win the approval of Arab countries.
